Eleos runs an open gym at the Nicholtown Community Center on Tuesday evenings from 6pm – 8pm. This activity is for students ages 12 and above.
Basketball from 6pm – 7pm
We’ll be spending time every open gym discovering how to compete without letting the results define us. So often we let our insecurities rule the day during athletics. When we play badly, we feel inadequate. When we play well, we become arrogant. But does it have to be that way? What if you could compete with all your strength, without ever putting your identity on the line? We believe you can!
Free Tutoring from 6pm – 7pm
Graduating from High School dramatically decreases the likelihood of a student entering the criminal justice system. This makes tutoring an important part of our mission to see students discover the beauty of their story and become instruments of restoration in this world
Free Dinner at 7pm
We provide healthy meals at every open gym. But the food is just a means to an end. We’re more excited about the conversations that students and volunteers can have around the dinner table.
Q&A about Life, God and Everything In Between
We want to spend intentional time every week answering questions about life, God, and everything in between. We’ve discovered one of the most effective ways to communicate truth is by answering the questions that people already have. We all have different stories, different scars, and different questions. The common thread that connects our stories and questions, is the Gospel. It is an event so great, it demands that all of life be seen in light of it. We believe the Gospel informs every area of life, and we want to help students discover that for themselves.
